Storytelling is attention, practiced.

I'm J.J. I started making videos in 2019, mostly because I wanted an excuse to pay closer attention to people. I haven't stopped since.

Today I study Visual Media Studies at Duke University, and in Spring 2027 I'm heading to Los Angeles for Duke in LA at USC.

Last summer I spent seven weeks in Santa Marta, Colombia through DukeEngage, making Gama Rays, a documentary about the women of the Kogui community. It taught me that a story is something you earn by staying long enough to see clearly.

The work I'm drawn to sits in three places: development, documentary, and brand storytelling. Different rooms, same question about what makes someone stop and keep watching.

Long term, I want to direct. Everything on this site is a step toward that.
